This Hazelnut Macchiato is delicious! Go to Starbucks to find out..

Today, Starbucks announced the release of a new drink, the Hazelnut Macchiato. It was quickly met with protests from some of the chain's customers, many of whom claimed the drink isn't really new, since both the Starbucks-style macchiato (vanilla syrup, steamed milk, and espresso) and hazelnut syrup have been on the menu for years, so technically, it's been possible to place an order for the drink all along.

If you compare Hazelnut Macchiato, Caramel Macchiato and Hazelnut Latte you will end up to some conclusions. Hazelnut Macchiato doesn't taste at all like hazelnut but rather warm milk and toasted coffee beans. But while delicious and balanced, it lacked the hazelnut flavor to back up its name. The Caramel Macchiato has the same creaminess as the hazelnut variety, only with more syrupy sweetness rather than any true caramel flavor. Between the two Starbucks-style macchiatos, the hazelnut wins.

The Hazelnut Latte, on the other hand, emitts a strong hazelnut scent and flavor. Seasoned with a heavier dose of hazelnut syrup, the latte tastes much sweeter than the Hazelnut Macchiato. Despite having more hazelnut flavor, the latte resemble sweetened, flavored milk, whereas the Hazelnut Macchiato actually tastes like coffee.

Τα Starbucks μόλις ανακοίνωσαν τη δημιουργία ενός νέου ροφήματος, του Hazelnut Macchiato. Αμέσως το προϊόν ήρθε αντιμέτωπο με διαμαρτυρίες από πελάτες της αλυσίδας οι οποίοι είπαν πως το ρόφημα αυτό δεν είναι καινούργιο καθώς υπάρχει και ο Macchiato και το σιρόπι Hazelnut (φουντουκιού) στο μενού των Starbucks εδώ και χρόνια. Επομένως αποτελούσε έτσι κι αλλιώς επιλογή του καθενός να τα αναμείξει.

Δοκιμάζοντας το Hazelnut Macchiato, το Caramel Macchiato και το Hazelnut Latte αυτό που διαπιστώθηκε είναι ότι ο πρώτος δεν έχει καθόλου γεύση και άρωμα φουντουκιού, ο δεύτερος είναι πιο γλυκός από τον πρώτο αλλά λίγο λιγότερο ωραίος ενώ ο τρίτος έχει γεύση και άρωμα φουντουκιού πολύ περισσότερο από τον πρώτο. Πέρα, όμως, από αυτό, εκείνο που τον διαχωρίζει από τον πρώτο είναι ότι μοιάζει περισσότερο με γάλα ενώ ο πρώτος μοιάζει περισσότερο με καφέ.

Αυτό, δηλαδή, που τελικά ισχύει, είναι ότι ο Hazelnut Macchiato είναι ένας πολύ ωραίος καφές χωρίς άρωμα και γεύση φουντουκιού.
